What is Blue Book Superpages

The Concept

Blue Book Superpages was a web site design concept started in 2005 but as web experts we didn’t have the time to actually make the site come to life. Hence we were working on client’s website projects.

The original site was going to be just another directory site, but directories are a dime a dozen, and a majority of them fall short of user expectations, lack functionality, and some are costly. So we went back to the drawing board.

How do you build a site that isn’t all about us, but about the businesses contributing? The web site will have to market businesses effectively using up to date technology.  This is how…

Minimal = “If everyone plays then nobody wins.”

Why did we build the site? In the past we have seen many problems with other web sites that have attempted to do the same thing. After looking at the usability, functionality, and really delivering the entire web experience these web sites fall short of the big picture. The directory approach is old news and our thinking is if everyone plays then nobody wins.

What we didn’t want was the in your face marketing, useless information or poor search engine placement. Our intent was to build a user friendly, informational site.

The name Blue Book Superpages

The name is a mixture of primary directory colors (yellow), primary Internet Explorer, and Google colors (Blue). We combined the two (yellow and blue) to make green. The green aspect of the site refers to green businesses and efficient online marketing. The Superpages indicates the site is built for speed and the content is found in many places online.

Not, but it sounded good… It’s a place for business ideas, information from small to large shops and a slice of green products & services.
